here's a start

i'm starting to get it
as one wish wishes to study quantum mechanics
another reads it and questions in silence
while one receives text then refolds plastic
the other sits quietly in front of fire
contemplating shells of understanding

i'm starting to get it
as one wish washes away buildings and bridges
another wants nothing more than communication
while one prepares for incoming obsession
the other observes furtive movement fenceward
on the edge of a safe standard distance

i'm starting to get it
as one wish fishes in the dark with bare hands
another begins to realize their clouding of the other
while one fears failure and rejection more than god
the other fails by intention from beginning
aware of rules yet interested in the mixing

i'm starting to get it
as one wish flashes like fish in the pan
another stays quite close to mission position
while one pours love out of sight ever changing
the other pulls sights off of love begins changing
to realize that everything only has a purpose because we say so

i'm starting to get it
so i wonder at the window
about what another's thinking
and until i've perfected mind reading
i'll be reading up on breathing and erasing
